Music & Worship Ministry

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to worship God through music. We have opportunities for individuals who sing, as well as opportunities for people who play instruments. Our choir and orchestra are talented individuals who are excited about making a joyful noise for the Lord.

Activity Times

The Choir and Orchestra participate in the regular church worship service (10:45-12:00). They lead our congregation as a group and as individuals in special music.

On Monday nights, the Orchestra practices together in preparation for leading our church in music each week.

On Wednesday nights (6:20 – 7:30) following the meal time (5:30 – 6:30) the choir practices in order to present their best each week.

Other Activities

Our Choir also participates in Easter, 4th of July, and Christmas musicals. They have some who practice as trios and others who sing as a
women’s group. These are great people who seek to serve God with a special gift each of them has been given.

When you join us for Worship at Oaklawn, you will discover a warm fellowship of believers engaging in an uplifting and inspiring worship
experience. While some might label our current worship services as "blended," we consider them "biblical." We sing a mixture of "psalms,
hymns, and spiritual songs."

We do not concentrate on the content of the worship experience. Instead, we encourage the worshipper to offer a sacrifice of worship in
"spirit and truth." We believe when we understand what Jesus was speaking of in John 4, we will come back to the heart of worship, which
is offering a truthful expression of our spirits to God.
